Multiplayer like this isn't even revolutionary, it's "retro" back in my day the biggest multiplayer we had was 4 players and it was significantly better for that reason, it wasn't hard to come up with a few games that were multiplayer but the majority were pre internet games like smash bros, mario kart, golden eye etc
I thought of "Army of Two" and "Kane and Lynch" as co-op games. They're older, and not that long, but I liked them, despite them being shooters.

I played Peak with my sister yesterday. We had it on easy mode and just spent like 6 hours wandering around and chatting, it was a lovely time. Very reminiscent of wandering arpund on nature trails and talking about whatever. I miss her

2025 have expedition 33, death stranding 2, DK bananza, silksong, probably metroid prime. other recent years we have baldur gate 3, elder ring, final fantasy remakes, the last of us 2, deltarune, and really weird games in steam. sorry but the games this are just better. in my day 1 game per year was just enough, and this day every year there is plenty of bangers
Well, the first co-op game I thought of, if you can call it that, was Stardew Valley.
The small studio I work at is making an asymmetric co-op game! So I'm glad to hear and see so many people want that type of game!
1:55 Portal, Left 4 Dead and PayDay would have been my three with only one making the list on screen.

My favourite co-op game loop is downloading it getting psyched to play it and then realizing i don't have friends then opening rimworld.
