I'm surprised they didn't do something similar to 3DS games, where there was a slight difference in designon the cartridge that prevents use on older consoles, but doesn't prevent backwards compatibility. I probably made people mad with this comment.
a switch 2 game that was originally on switch 1 (for example like the switch 2 versions of the legend of zelda botw, legend of zelda totk, mario party jamboree, ect) will work on a switch one or switch lite, it just wont have the switch 2 upgrades
