I’ve always hated that most people let their old websites projects die. Forumwarz is a web game I developed with my friends (and the help of many, many others) back in 2008, and I still put in the work to make sure it runs smoothly today.
This video is part retrospective on the game, but also partially a plea to others to maintain their old projects.
You can still play Forumwarz today: https://www.forumwarz.com

so awesome to see that forumwarz is still kicking 🙂
i come back every few years and play, i finally got a chance to almost finish but flash being dead sort of stopped me so hearing this makes me optimistic i can finally finish a run. Good on you for keeping ForumWarz going as long as you have
what's funny about 7:50 is that last i tried, if you spend the money to have multiple characters you can add whatever you want because each character is its own account with the ability to vote so you can bypass the low traffic issue
and even though the game is past its heyday and i never really knew what that was like as i started playing well after episode 3 released, there's something fun about being able to add more content because i spent cash to be a dumbass
Put in a lot of hours into this as a teen, massive kudos for having kept it alive for so long even. Thanks for the experience.
Happened upon this video during a quick search based on a flash of memory… I appreciate the glimpse int the care and keeping of the Old Internet Vibe.
I remember thinking about this a year or two back and being pleasantly surprised to see that it was still online and running. Great work!
One year I played this and secret society wars every day and remember it fondly. Pls if you ever decide to pull the plug on this publish a self contained standalone version to steam.
Dude!!!! This game was so good. Thank you for the countless memories.
This is really nice, sounds like the inspiration for games like welcome to the game.
I totally agree with trimming the really fucked stuff, but I also think you document what changes were made for internet history. Thank you for keeping the site up to date! I have a lot of good memories of trying to win the caption game.
TSB
Troll's remorse is a bitch.
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS GAME FOR SO LONG. I remember i played it so much as a teen!!!
I started playing this game maybe in 2010 or so? It's one of my favorite games and I always wished there were more like it. I just started replaying it again after a few years (I might be the reason you're getting automated error reports about not being able to change avatars, oops!) and I'm having a blast. I sure hope this game can stay up, but even if it can't, I hope one day you release the source code so other people can host it. Certainly not today, but some day, I hope!
Oh, the memories of spending hours immersed in this game. It was naughty fun, back when I'd play this, Runescape, Kingdom of Loathing, and WoW.
Good times, Evil Trout, good times!
I look forward to your next game.
I played through to act 3 as a hacker type.
You can imagine my surprise seeing the game still being alive. I immediately made a new account and started from scratch.
Thank you so much for the preservation of 2000's internet culture. You are awesome!
I absolutely loved this game as a teen! I must've beaten it at least 3 times! I remember waiting for Episode 3 and being super hyped for it.
I randomly remembered Forumwarz and googled it to see what happened to the game, only to find, not just this video, but that it still up and playable! Talk about a blast from the past!
I gotta go back and do a full "Camgirl" playthrough. I don't think I ever played past EP 1 with her.
4:06 wow forums warn went woke smh
I used to love this game and spent prolly 75$ on it over the course or a year and remember the fun minigame where you made like a meme and voted for the best one…. something like that lol
If only i'd figure out what to do in the trap room with the cleanerbot. been stuck there for years
oh my GOD i used to play this as a kid! this game was wild. really happy it's been preserved so well, makes me wanna play again for old times sake. good on ya for keeping this interesting relic of ye olde internette up and running!
What exactly would you consider a right-wing propagandist and how are they worse than a left-wing propagandist? Do you not think such things exist or do you agree with their propaganda and thus don't consider them evil. Unquestionably evil is certainly a false and quite frankly bigoted label. Just because people have morals and want the freedom that people exercise to not conflict with the ability to live doesn't make them evil.
There are so many little gems throughout the game! I'm glad you're maintaining it. Excited to see the new game you're working on!
I randomly remembered this game I used to play all those years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see a video essay covering its history uploaded so recently!
Thank you for still maintaining it, this video makes me want to log back into my account and replay some of it!
