He didnt actually answer it, he just say that there is an answer
Are there stat blocks?
There shouldn’t be balance. Sometimes you have to outsmart the villain. Sometimes you gotta run!
Okay, so, this video is right but also very, very wrong. The game tells you that this sort of balancing, where the enemies have parity of rank should be reserved for boss battles because there is actually a good chance (1:2 ideally) that the players will lose that encounter.
Furthermore, It's not a straight progression. If you just 6 ranks on one side, and 6 on the other, it can be incredibly unbalanced. For example, 6 rank 1 characters do not equal 1 rank 6 character. 1 ranked 6 character, according to the rules, equals 32 ranked 1 characters. However, if that that ranked 6 character has damage reduction AT ALL, let alone multiple ranks of it, they're basically indestructable in regards to Rank 1.
The rule you didn't mention therefore is this: Every rank is worth two characters of the preceding rank. That's super important when balancing combats, but also, don't match your character's 1 for 1. Give the opponents less than parity, unless you want the fight to be a toss up. And not all powers are created equally. The ability to STOP TIME FOR 4 ROUNDS for 15 focus will vastly increase a character's combat potential, especially if combined with multiplier increases and or the power that gives two actions a round. I just did a test roll for a character with mighty 2, the time stop (or whatever its called) with 2 actions, rank 4 character, and that character can, hypothetically inflict 206 damage in "a turn", no criticals, and that damage can be split between multiple heroes. That means such a villain can wipe like 3 rank 4 heroes in a turn.
OSR: what is this “balance” you speak of?

Any interest in making something like the dms guild, but for Marvel Multiverse RPG? Is that even possible (I don't know if they have an OGL equivalent)? If not, maybe just a database of homebrewed heroes, villains, powers, adventures, etc? I'm getting pretty invested in this game and would love a community to grow with
