It's not that deep, it's a good atmosphere with garbage enemy design.
You know with all these games like DBD, Last Year (And a smidge of Hunting Grounds) the game never feels proper scary because they force the survivor players to rush with a time limit.
I just wish there would be a game like them that would let you take as much time as possible as the Slasher/Monster and really get to toy with the survivor players.

The Best/Worst is the doppelganger mod. Ads a monster that looks like a player AND TALKS WITH YOUR VOICE. the mod cuts recordings of your voicechat and then talks to you. Running back to your ship is hell when you hear your friend talk from multiple directions or you wait for the last player only that its a doppelganger and suddenly your dead.
