Sony’s PlayStation is synonymous with industry-dominating single-player adventures, so it’s with good reason we’re focusing this video on the PlayStation’s current-generation console’s selection of amazing RPG games.
They’re not always exclusively single player, of course, but arguably the genre works best as a solo endeavor. Role-playing games cover a broad spectrum of styles and experiences too, given that the hallmarks of the genre are so widespread.
On this rundown, we champion games that are narrative heavy, often with choice-led outcomes, that harbor engaging combat, offer extensive character progression via upgradeable skills, attributes, and capabilities, plus feature enveloping quests which foster discovery through fantastical worlds.
The opportunities to assume the role of a character in-game have never been greater, especially on PS5.

I'm sorry what anybody says. These games like elden ring are beautiful and good game play etc but they are just bare and feel empty. It puts me to sleep
I don't know if it is just me but I tried baldurs gate 3 and it is not fun for me and the combat is far from engaging turn based games just put me to sleep thank god for ps trail games or else I would have buy it and played it for like half an hour hope they put expedition 33 on ps premium trial maybe that game is the first turn based game that I will like to play
Ghost of New Eden probably had one of the best story telling I've ever seen in a game. Though, game play left a lot to be desired. Repetitive combat and not so challenging boss fights.
How is kingdom come and dragon’s dogma mentioned and not metaphor refantazio, ff 7 rebirth, ff xvi, tales of arise?
The fact that clair obscure is sold out everywhere is ridiculous. I feel like no one and I mean no one would ever talk positively about turn based rpgs. The main argument is why am I going to wait to attack. Also everyone wants a physical copy now. I thought this was a digital age
For Soulsfans BLEAK FAITH is an atmospheric banger
No TIMESTAMPS = DISLIKED
That like a dragon is decent, the sequel is a bit too much, feels like more a proper job
Lies of P, Black Myth and Demon Soul aren't RPGs. They're hack n slash games. And nauseatingly overrated.
Where's Stellar Blade?
Metaphor refantazio, Romancing saga 2, Elden ring
Divinity Original Sin 2
Wasteland 3
Pillars of Eternity 2
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous
